Yeddyurappa to campaign in Hubli

images3Hubli: Even as campaigning for the Council election from the local authorities’ constituencies is picking up, the Bharatiya Janata Party inaugurated the party’s election office in Hubli on Tuesday.

Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Jagadish Shettar, Minister for Major and Minor Irrigation Basavaraj Bommai, Pralhad Joshi, MP, and M.R. Patil, party’s candidate from Dharwad local authorities’ constituency were present.

Mr. Jagadish Shettar told presspersons that the party was confident of winning both the seats from Dharwad local authorities constituency by securing adequate number of first preference votes. He said the strategy had been worked out and the constituency had been divided into two areas for the sake of avoiding confusion among the voters. He said the party leaders were making concerted efforts to get the party’s candidates elected in the constituency and several rounds preliminary meetings had already been held. He said the party leaders would be jointly touring the constituency for canvassing.

Mr. Shettar said Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will campaign for the party candidate M.R. Patil in Hubli on December 10.

As the district-in-charge minister Murugesh Nirani had been given the responsibility of monitoring election campaign in other districts, he wouldn’t be participating in the campaign to be held in the constituency.

Mr. Shettar and Mr. Bommai said that the BJP leaders were not divided on any issue. And, that al of them were following the directions of the party’s high command with regard to campaigning.
