Editor’s Desk (By Sagar Satapathy): He is down, but not out. BS Yeddyurappa showed the BJP central leaders that he is the boss when it comes to Karnataka. He did that in the past and did again on Wednesday when his close aide DV Sadananda Gowda won the race for the CM’s post.
Governor HR Bhardwaj, the Congress and JD-S failed to oust Yeddyurappa from power despite their best efforts. However, Justice Santosh Hegde on the capacity of Karnataka Lokayukta, triggered Yeddy’s downfall with his report on illegal mining.
Even after the indictment, Yeddyurappa did not give up easily. He continued to show defiance and showed his strength. Finally, he decided to resign but not before making public his intention to appoint Sadananda Gowda as the next Karnataka CM.
The BJP High Command did not want Yeddyurappa’s man at the helm. Senior party leader Ananth Kumar led the rebels. There was a big fight between Yedyurappa’s man DV Sadananda Gowda and Jagadish Shettar.
The BJP central leadership ordered a voting by secret ballot to minimize Yeddyurappa’s influence, but they failed to do so. Yeddyurappa had the last laugh, as Sadananda Gowda beat Shettar by eight votes to emerge victorious.
Yeddyurappa won each and every election in the last two years despite the Opposition attack, tainted image, allegations of corruption etc. Today, he has emerged  stronger and taller than the BJP.
Yeddyurappa showed that he is the boss in Karnataka and the BJP cannot dare to dump him. If the BJP choose to ignore Yeddyurappa, it will become a non-existent force in the state. You love him or hate him, you have to stick to him. He is Yeddurappa – The Boss.
