Members of various Tamil organizations based in Karnataka met and thanked chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday for deciding to
unveil Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar’s statue here on August 9.
Bangalore Tamil Association president Meenakshi Sundaram said all Tamilians are happy about the move. “We thank the government for showing commitment to improve relations with Tamil Nadu. Sarvajna and Thiruvalluvar don’t belong to any region or language. Their statues should be unveiled for maintaining good relations between the two states,” he said.
