Bangalore: Families with more than two children will not be eligible for benefits under various welfare schemes if the Government has its way. Legislation in this connection is being planned.
Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, in his opening remarks on the debate on agriculture and rural development in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, said the Government was planning to come out with a law to make the two-child norm mandatory for providing benefits to families under government-sponsored schemes. “I invite suggestions from members on the matter,” he said.
