Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has said that the government will maintain the last year’s fiscal deficit of 4% this year too, in the state budget.Narrating the position of state’s finances here on Thursday, he said Rs 62,416 crore was earmarked in the budget for spending in 2009-10. “Of which, Rs 33,957 crore — 54% — has been spent in the first eight months. In the same period last year, Rs 28,453 crore was spent,” he added.
