Bangalore, Jan 27: With the mounting criticism over Karnataka govt’s late reaction to Mangalore pub incident, the BJP govt termed it as ‘unacceptable act of hooliganism’.
Addressing the media, Chief Minister B S Yeddiyurappa said, “It’s a very unfortunate incident. We have already arrested many people. Police have been given a free hand to act.”
Distancing Sangh Parivar from Rama Sena, BSY said, “Two people have been arrested on Monday morning. Give us some time, probe is going on. But Ram Sena has nothing to do with the Sangh Parivar.”
Meanwhile BJP President Rajnath Singh condemned the attack of women in the Pub by activists: “The Karnataka government has already initiated strong action against the unacceptable act of hooliganism that took place in Mangalore. The BJP condemns the incident in totality,” Rajnath Singh said.
“It is unfortunate that our political opponents and the so-called secularists, suffer from an RSS-BJP phobia. They tend to level allegations without even verifying the facts”, Rajnath added.
In an attack on the Congress, Rajnath said, “With the Lok Sabha elections around the corner, one should not be surprised if the Congress dumps its ‘Aam Admi’ plank and plans another slogan to confuse another section of society”.
Finally Karnataka govt cracked won on few activists of Sri Ram Sena, who had beat, pulled and molested girls in a pub in Mangalore. Those arrested include district convener Subash Padil, district vice-convenor Kishore and city convenor Ganesh. With these arrests, the total number of Sri Ram Sena activists arrested has gone up to 19. But at least 21 others also accused in the case, are still at large.
Founder of Sri Rama Sena, Pramod Muthalik, who justified the act is yet to be arrested. However, the BJP govt in Karnataka did not give any confirmation whether will it ban the Sri Ram Sena.
