MPs should ensure overall progress of State: Yeddyurappa

2009052952290301BELLARY: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has expressed happiness over four MPs from the State being made Union Ministers and hoped that they will strive for development of the State.

Mr. Yeddyurappa, who along with a host of his Cabinet colleagues had come here to attend the marriage of T.H. Kampli MLA Suresh Babu on Thursday, was responding to questions by presspersons at the makeshift helipad near the marriage venue.

He said that he would lead a delegation to New Delhi to greet the Prime Minister and Union Ministers representing the State and request them to extend their cooperation for development of the State.

“Instead of pursuing politics of confrontation all leaders should join hands to ensure overall development of the State,” he said.With regard to the inter-State border dispute between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, he said the law would take its course.

When asked why action was not being initiated against those who have been found to be corrupt by the Lokayukta, the Chief Minister said that action had already been initiated in some cases and other cases were being looked into.
