Govt to consider a film city in heroes’ name

BANGALORE: The state government will consider establishing a film city in Bangalore, as a memorial to Kannada cine stalwarts Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan, Minister for Tourism and Infrastructure Janardhan Reddy said on Wednesday.Responding to suggestions in the Legislative Council during the obit references to actor Vishnuvardhan, the minister said that a one-ofits- kind film city in the country will be explored on a public-private-partnership.The matter will be discussed with Chief Minister B S Yeddyurapppa, Reddy said.Earlier, upon Leader of the House and Home Minister V S Acharya’s statement that the government will seek to construct a memorial for Vishnuvardhan, members V R Sudarshan (Congress) and Y S V Dutta (JD-S) had pointed out that government land for the same was available at Hessarghatta limits in the city.
