Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa opined that Congress party could not announce the list of its candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections because of its internal strife, and a party like Congress should not have experienced such a pathetic condition.Speaking after inaugurating the BJP’s publicity office ‘Vijaya Sankalpa Bhavan’here on Monday, he felt that the list of Congress candidates was not announced to avoid the outburst of the party’s internal strife before the arrival of Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi to Davangere.
Congress leaders had lost hopes with the rapid growth of the BJP. Congress was giving tickets to ‘youths’ like S Bangarappa, S M Krishna, Dharam Singh, and Mallikarjun Kharge, while BJP is fielding ‘seniors’ like B Y Raghavendra, Shivakumar Udasi, and Prahlad Joshi. This showed the difference between the two parties. The weapons of BJP in Lok Sabha elections would be the failures of the Central government, and achievements of the State government, he stated.KLE Society Director Shankaranna Munavalli joined BJP on the occasion.MP Prahlad Joshi, ministers Murugsesh Nirani, C M Udasi, Basavaraj Bommai, MLCs Vijay Sankeshwar, Mohan Limbikai, MLAs Chandrakanth Bellad, Seema Masuti, Veerabhadrappa Halaharavi, Shankar Patil Munenakoppa, S I Chikkanagoudar, and others were present.
