The Chief Minister, soon after returning from the Association of Kannada Kootas of America (AKKA) made his visit to the worst rain affected areas at Bhadrappa Layout, Hennur Bande, Byraveshwaranagar and Vaddarapalya on Thursday.
Though the CM wanted to ensure his support to the affected families, his visit caused traffic jam in the city in the evening.
Addressing the media after visiting the affected areas, he said that Rs 15 crore has been marked to rain affected areas and the amount has been already sanctioned to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
“Measures are being taken to provide drinking water to the residents of the rain affected area. Also, arrangements are being made to hire the best contractors to construct the good storm water drains in the city. However, at present the desilting of the drain near Hennur is the top priority,” he pointed out.
