Bangalore: He has been visiting naturopathy clinics such as Jindal’s in Bangalore suburbs earlier, but this time, CM Bookanakere Yeddyurappa went as far as Chennai, for a “health check-up”, and returned to his duties on Thursday (Sept.2). He wooed fasting Muslims.
He went to an Iftar party to socialize with Muslim devotees of Ramzan (Ramadhyan?), organised by his party’s Minority Communities Cell (MCC). Then, he went to a dinner hosted by sports personalities. This is just to celebrate Commonwealth Games in advance, with a Queen’s baton reaching Bangalore, on its way to Mangalore (and Karwar) by Sept 5 evening.
Yeddy told at Iftar Party that he did not look down upon Muslims or other minorities in state. No other previous govt, has done so much for Muslim as his, he explained.
Still, Anwar Sharif, Jumma Mosque chief, wanted his govt’s help to create a Karnataka heritage for Muslims, besides on Islamic Development Centre at the Quddus Sahib prayer grounds. CM’s reaction is not known.
