The glaring disparities between the urban and once outlaying areas of the City were there for Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to see at the newly added Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) areas in the northern and eastern parts of the City on Wednesday.
Yes, we are talking about bad roads, frequent power cuts, irregular water supply and lack of good connectivity to the Central Business Districts (CBD), to name a few. For voters of the newly added constituencies, it was a pleasant surprise to see the chief minister arrive for campaigning. Though movement of vehicular traffic was hit, as vehicles belonging to BJP leaders blocked movement of vehicles along the route taken by Yeddyurappa.
“Drinking water supply and frequent power cuts have dogged our area for the last one year. Roads also need immediate attention,” said Pushpalatha, who manages a grocery store at Sunkadakatte.
