Budget will empower farmers: CM

BELGAUM: Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday said the forthcoming budget will try to make farmers more powerful by giving importance to  rural sector. He was speaking after launching various development works worth Rs 224 crore at Athani here.

He said he will make efforts to put the state in the forefront of development by providing special facilities to farmers and giving importance to the irrigation sector. Survey is underway for the long-pending Basaveshwara lift irrigation project and the upgradation of Jatta-Jamboti Road at a cost of Rs 50 crore will start at the earliest.
