Bijapur: State to Urge for Rs 10,000 crore Aid from Centre for Flood Relief Works

State has decided to request the centre to release Rs 10,000 crore from the National Disaster Fund to tackle the flood situation in north Karnataka.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday October 3 after conducting aerial survey of the district, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said that a meeting of opposition leaders will be convened on Monday to hold discussion on flood situation. Yeddyurappa also hinted at taking an all-party delegation to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to apprise him of flood situation in the state.
