Yeddyurappa mourns YSR

images1BANGALORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has expressed profound grief over the death of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and four others in a helicopter crash.In a message here on Thursday, Mr. Yeddyurappa said, “As soon as I heard the news of the missing helicopter during my visit to China on Wednesday, I spoke to the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh expressing my concern and assuring all possible help. I had high hopes that Dr. Reddy would come back alive. My hope has been shattered and I am deeply hurt by this incident,” he said.

In Dr. Reddy’s death, Mr. Yeddyurappa said, “We have lost a great leader and a visionary. His death has certainly created a void not only in Andhra Pradesh but also in the entire country. He was a very popular leader of Andhra Pradesh with his development programmes aimed at
uplifting all needy sections of society,” the Chief Minister said.

“May his soul rest in peace and may God give enough strength to the bereaved family members of the Chief Minister and others to sustain this huge loss,” Mr. Yeddyurappa said in his condolence message.A meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Home Minister V.S. Acharya on Thursday mourned the death of Dr. Reddy and observed a minute’s silence as a mark of respect for the departed soul.
