Chinese senior legislator meets Indian guest

BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) — Han Qide, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), the national legislature, met here Friday with Chief Minister of Karnataka Pradesh of India Yeddyurappa.

Developing the China-India friendly relations is the formed policy of the Chinese government and the Communist Party of China (CPC) as well as an important component of China’s foreign policy toward its periphery, Han said.

As the two largest developing countries in the world and each other’s important neighbors, China and India share extensive common interests in the process of economic development and improving people’s living standard, Han said.
