Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had responded positively to the state government’s appeal for higher allocation of funds to take up relief works in the flood affected districts.

Addressing the Police Commemoration Day Parade here, he said he was “overwhelmed” by the response from the Prime Minister who expressed his serious concern about the people affected by floods in North Karnataka.
